From Electrician to Pastor...
Ron wasn’t always a pastor. He grew up in the northern Alberta city of Edmonton where, after graduating from high school, he worked for nine years as an electrician. He then attended The King’s University College in Edmonton, and later graduated from Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ron gained ministry experience by serving Cornerstone church in Salmon Arm, B.C. (1994 – 2003) and New Hope church in Calgary, AB. (2003 – 2006).
When asked, “Why the switch from electrician to pastor?” Ron explained: “There is nothing more exciting than serving in a place where you can be part of seeing God change lives. There is nothing better than working in a community where people come together and lives are renewed by the love of God. There is nothing more invigorating than introducing people to God, through Jesus Christ, for the first time.” Ron sees The Well as a great place to see these things happen in new and exciting ways.
Ron and his wife, Monica, who was also born and raised in Edmonton, have two children. Their daughter and her husband live in Vernon and their son is always off on a new adventure somewhere in the world – Australia, New Zeeland, South Africa, Singapore, Milan, New York…
Ron and Monica love living in Kelowna, enjoy the outdoors, still cheer for the Edmonton Eskimos and Oilers, and love traveling around this beautiful province on their Motorcycle. You can contact Ron at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
