Pastor Ron and wife MonicaFrom Electrician to Pastor...

Ron wasn’t always a pastor.  He grew up in the northern Alberta city of Edmonton where, after graduating from high school, he worked for nine years as an electrician.  He then attended The King’s University College in Edmonton, and later graduated from Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Ron gained ministry experience by serving Cornerstone church in Salmon Arm, B.C. (1994 – 2003) and New Hope church in Calgary, AB.  (2003 – 2006).

When asked, “Why the switch from electrician to pastor?” Ron explained: “There is nothing more exciting than serving in a place where you can be part of seeing God change lives.  There is nothing better than working in a community where people come together and lives are renewed by the love of God.  There is nothing more invigorating than introducing people to God, through Jesus Christ, for the first time.”  Ron sees The Well as a great place to see these things happen in new and exciting ways.

Ron and his wife, Monica, who was also born and raised in Edmonton, have two children. Their daughter and her husband live in Vernon and their son is always off on a new adventure somewhere in the world – Australia, New Zeeland, South Africa, Singapore, Milan, New York…

Ron and Monica love living in Kelowna, enjoy the outdoors, still cheer for the Edmonton Eskimos and Oilers, and love traveling around this beautiful province on their Motorcycle. You can contact Ron at ron@thewellkelowna.ca

Sam and wife MilenaWorship Leader/Coordinator

Sam was raised in so many places, he says he can't remember where he's technically "from". His move to Kelowna to take the position of Worship Leader/Coordinator was move number 20, and, "hopefully his last for some time".

Born in Ontario and homeschooled through grade and high school, Sam began leading worship and involving himself in music ministry in early 2002. After finishing high school, he attended Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta for three years ('05-06 through '07-'08) in the B.A. in Performing Arts and Worship program, leaving because the school cut his program due to funding. During his time at Prairie, he served as chapel worship leader, as well as a worship leader at a church in Lacombe, Alberta. Also during this time (2002-Present) Sam has been involved in a band, North of Tomorrow (www.myspace.com/northoftomorrow), writing and performing their own songs as God has provided opportunity.

He and his wife Milena, who was raised in Washington, USA, and graduated in the same program Sam was in, met during their time at Prairie and were married in May of 2008. They are excited for the work God is doing at The Well, and look forward to what He has in store for them here. Sam can be contacted at info@thewellkelowna.com
